Saguaro National Park

Saguaro National Park has two districts on each side of the City of Tucson. Rincon is the one on the east and Tucson Mountain is the western one.  As the Tucson Mountain area is where we are staying we took the short drive to check the western one This park is the home of the Giant Saguaro, which is only in a small area of the United States. The Tucson Mountain District of Saguaro National Park ranges from an elevation of 2,180 ft to 4,687 ft and contains bot desert scrub, and desert grassland. . Some of the wildlif found here includes the coyote, Gambel’s quail, and desert tortoise. There are around 400 different types of plants in the Tucson Mountain District and 1,200 in the Rincon Mountain district, which is at a higher elevation. We had a great time driving through the area and stopped at one of the picnic areas to much on some fruit, cheese and nuts I brought along.
