Canada's Glacier and Ravelstoke Parks

Thursday, we took another road. We went west through Glacier Park. It consists of steep rugged mountains and protects a portion of the Columbia Mountains as well as some endangered species such as caribou and the grizzy bear. More beautiful views.

We took a walk through the Hemlock Grove Trail on a boardwalk through old growth trees. Western Red Cedar and western hemlock are some of the trees and include some as old as 350 years.

We also took a walk through the Skunk Cabbage Trail in Ravelstoke National Park. It is named after a large leafed plant prevalent in this area. It is very warm and humid in this rain forest area. The boardwalk passes over the wetlands that border the Illecillewaet River,
