Cruising on Lake Minnewanka

Friday we went on our boat cruise on Lake Minnewanka.  It is a glacier fed lake and is the largest lake in the Banff area. It is only a 15 minute drive from the town. It is 17 miles long and 466 feet deep. The day was beautiful for a very enjoyable cruise.

Pets are allowed on the boat and there was one other dog on the boat. Both dogs, including our Savannah, were well behaved. Savannah just checked out the scenery and then took a little nap. After the cruise, we had lunch at a small snack shop across from the lake and sat outside taking in more scenery while we ate our sandwiches which were good.  There is often a lot of wildlife but we didn't see any. However, the tour guide mentioned that when we leave if we continue on the loop out of the area, there was a spot where you had a good chance of seeing the Big Horn Sheep and we did indeed
 see some.

Another nice day and a full moon to enjoy later on an evening walk back at our campground.
