North To Golden, BC

We spent the last few days in Ft Steele with another trip to the Farmer's Market in Cranbrook. The rest of the weekend we spend reading and enjoying the views from our site. We left Tuesday morning and headed north to Golden. It is near the confluence of the Columbia and Kicking Horse rivers, surrounded by 3 mountain ranges and 5 National Parks. It is a tourist area due to the fact all these Parks are within a few hours of Golden. The place we are staying is Golden Eco-Adventure Ranch. What a beautiful park. It is on 400 acres of open meadows, native forest and wetlands. There is a small pond and not far from the Colombia River. Plenty of land for hiking and dogs can be off leash around the pond area which will make Savannah happy. We have a great pull thru site that faces the open meadow. It is also the home of the paragliding and hang glide flight park which land in the meadow.

The campground is actually in the small town of Nicholson, but is just a few miles from Golden. We drove there to get some groceries. We made plans to take a drive Wednesday through Yoho National Park and onto Banff. We wnt to check out some lakes for further kayaking and also check out the public campgrounds in Banff as we are planning to spend part of the next few weeks there.
